Strong. Austere. Classically Modern. Bay Plaza Condominium.
Designed by architect Edward "Tim" Seibert, FAIA in 1982, Bay Plaza's entrance faces Sarasota Bay and provides stunning views of the marina, Sarasota’s bay front park and Ringling Bridge. Designed in the tradition of the Sarasota School of Architecture, Bay Plaza is one apartment deep; it's exterior carefully stepped to develop an interesting articulation that follows the lines of the site. It presents itself differently from all major approaches. Tim Seibert notes, "The fact that [Bay Plaza] changes as you walk around it I find quite fascinating. It looks tall and slender from some places and other places, it’s enormous and rather overpowering. Bay Plaza has a good geometry undefined it’s like a woman with good bone structure who'll always look well at any age.”
The tour will feature two residential units and talks by special guests Tim Seibert, FAIA, Sam Holladay, AIA and Pam Holladay, ASID, of Seibert Architects. After the tour you're invited to a wine reception hosted by SAF member Richard C. Carpenter, ASID.
