The beautifully designed sanctuary will be open for self-guided tours from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2256 Bahia Vista St., Sarasota
Free to SAF members, $15 for non-members, $10 for students
The program will include a pre-meeting self-guided tour of the beautiful Victor Lundy designed St. Paul's sanctuary, a brief SAF business meeting, and an exciting lecture by famed lighting designer Claude Engel (www.crengle.com), plus time to mix and mingle with your fellow architect enthusiasts.
Claude Engle graduated from Princeton University in electrical engineering, having spent a lot of time designing lighting at Princeton’s McCarter Theater. He has combined his engineering background and experience in theater and television into a practice of lighting design for architecture. His work reaches from the Buckminister Fuller Dome at EXPO67 in Montreal to the original World Trade Center, to, currently, the new World Trade Center Tower and the New York Public Library in central Manhattan. During that time he has collaborated with SOM, I.M. Pei, Phillip Johnson, Minoru Yamasake, Frank Gehry, Rafael Vinoly, and Norman Foster. He has lectured in Princeton’s Department of Architecture. The full scope of his work can be seen at his Web site crengle.com.
RSVP's are appreciated. Please respond to this email or call the SAF voice mail at 941.365.4723.
